Lamiya Murray

Portrait artist, painter, graphic designer, and ceramicist Lamiya Murray is a born exhibitionist. Her multifaceted career shapes her to be nothing less than an extraordinary artist. She is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard university, majoring in Art with a painting concentration and minoring in ceramics. The 19-year-old artist from South Carolina is self-taught and has been creating artwork for as long as she can remember. Her skill sets include, but are not limited to graphite pencils, charcoal pencils, conte pencils, acrylic mediums, oil paints, porcelain, and greenware. Her works of art are inspired by generational trauma, systematic oppressions, culture, and spirituality in the black community. Her pieces embody strength, dedication, and cultural commitment to being black. Her impactful cultural narratives and introspections create a delicate, reminiscent, timeless experience for her viewers.
